Role Overview

Role Title: Program Manager
Salary: $55,000 - $70,000 based on experience
Benefits: Flexible hours, 4 weeks vacation, health benefits, RSP plan, and phone stipend
Start Date: March 2025
Position Type: Permanent, full-time
Hours: 35 - 40 hours per week
Location: Hybrid - Work remotely and on-site in Southern Ontario, candidate must be able to access the GTA area easily.

What You’ll Do

Event Management

  • Coordinate scheduling and logistics for program assistants and volunteers.

  • Ensure program assistants are using tools for time tracking and following established protocols.

  • Manage resources and equipment for event execution.

  • Visit program assistants at their events to provide support, ensure protocols are followed, and foster an engaging and successful event experience.

  • Lead volunteer recruitment, training, and engagement to ensure event success.

  • Act as the primary on-site contact for key events and initiatives.

Data & Reporting

  • Collect and analyze data from events to measure impact and improve strategies.

  • Maintain detailed records of activities, outcomes, and volunteer contributions.

  • Ensure data submission is timely and accurate, contributing to program evaluations and organizational reports.

  • Collect testimonials from volunteers to use in social media and program reports.

  • Identify opportunities for program improvements and implement new strategies.

Leadership & Coordination

  • Provide mentorship, support, and performance reviews for program assistants.

  • Address performance and hold tough but constructive conversations when necessary.

  • Collaborate with other staff to align program objectives with organizational goals.

  • Represent A Greener Future at community events, building strong relationships with stakeholders.

  • Engage with volunteers in meaningful ways, including addressing topics such as climate change and eco-anxiety to foster a supportive environment.

  • Exhibit charisma and forward-thinking approaches to ensure events and programs achieve the best possible outcomes.

Who We’re Looking For

You are:

  • Experienced in Program Coordination: Proven track record in leading and managing programs or events.

  • Passionate about Sustainability: Deep commitment to environmental and community-driven change.

  • A Strong Leader: Skilled in supporting and motivating teams to achieve results.

  • Organized and Detail-Oriented: Able to juggle multiple priorities and ensure nothing falls through the cracks.

  • A Problem Solver: Adaptable and resourceful, with excellent decision-making skills.

  • A Skilled Communicator: Comfortable engaging with volunteers, stakeholders, and team members.

  • Emotionally Intelligent: Able to handle tough conversations about performance and sensitive topics like climate change.

  • Team Management Experience: Prior experience managing a team is a strong asset.

  • AI Proficiency: Experience using AI tools to improve efficiency and program outcomes is a bonus.

  • Proficient with tools like Google Drive, Slack, and project management software.

  • Vehicle & License: Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.

Work Conditions

  • In-Person Events: Attendance at events across Southern Ontario, traveling from Durham Region to Hamilton, as required.
