World Cleanup Day

Join us on World Cleanup Day, Saturday September 21st, for a very special event!

What is World Cleanup Day?
World Cleanup Day is an annual global social action program aimed at combating the global solid waste problem, including the problem of marine debris. It is coordinated by the global organization Let's Do It! World, the headquarters is located in Tallinn, Estonia.

How We’re Participating:
We’ll host a drop-in event from 10 am - 3 pm at Marie Curtis Park in Etobicoke. Take your pick at picking up litter, nurdle hunting, or butt blitzing, or do all three! We’ll provide the equipment and instructions, we just need your helping hands. Stay for as long as you like.

Registration is not required, but if you sign up for an email reminder we’ll send you a message a couple of days before the event so you don’t forget to join us. Look for the check-in tent when you arrive to pick up your equipment and our staff will point you in the right direction.

Date: Saturday, September 21st, 2024
Time: 10 am - 3 pm (drop-in)
Location: Marie Curtis Park, 2 Forty Second Street, Etobicoke, Ontario

Here’s What Our Volunteers Have to Say

  • It has been such a great experience in so many ways, just working with the organization, connecting with people in my community and to a certain extent feeling like I am making a difference…but it's about collective action. The more people we get out here the bigger difference we make and even more importantly the greater awareness we bring to everyone. It really is a group effort helping to fix our planet, to clean it up.

    - Lee S.

  • I would 1000% recommend volunteering with A Greener Future, for anyone looking to develop new skills and make a difference within your community, meet some new people. You will find that and more with this organization and will not regret it. They are very welcoming and supportive in everything.

    - Eilish N.

  • ...you see the amount that you can collect with all the volunteers together; the number of litter pieces we’ve collected so far it's unreal! It's a great impact and the team is wonderful…it really shows how a small group of individuals can have a big positive impact…I am looking forward to continuing on with them in the years to come.
