Press Release: Volvo Car Canada donates $5,000 and use of C40 Recharge to help keep Ontario Beaches Clean
Ontario – August 16, 2024– A Greener Future [AGF] is proud to announce its support from Volvo Car Canada with the use of a fully-electric C40 Recharge for our 2024 programming, with an additional $5,000 donation. This collaboration reflects Volvo Car Canada's commitment to sustainability and supports A Greener Futures' mission to preserve the environment through litter cleanups, education and events.
“We are proud to support A Greener Future as this partnership aligns with our commitment to sustainability and community impact,” said Julian Pastore, Retailer Experience & Sustainability Manager at Volvo Car Canada. “Together, we are driving positive change across Ontario.”
Building a Greener Future, Together
The C40 Recharge will serve as the primary vehicle for the Love Your Lakes program throughout the summer, allowing AGF's team to travel efficiently to clean-up sites across southern Ontario. The $5,000 contribution will directly support AGF's environmental initiatives, further strengthening their impact through litter clean-ups and education throughout the Great Lakes Region.
"Climate change is a pressing issue that demands collective action," said Rochelle Byrne, Executive Director. "Volvo Canada's support allows us to expand the actions we’re taking as an organization and make a more diverse contribution to a cleaner, healthier environment for Lake Ontario residents, beyond just picking up litter."
The AFG Volvo C40 Recharge will be travelling between clean-ups around southern Ontario from Hamilton to Kingston! Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for A Greener Future on the road to our next litter cleanup!
"The C40 Recharge's fully electric motor minimizes our environmental footprint while allowing us to navigate the region efficiently and seamlessly. This not only supports our clean-up efforts but also sends a powerful message about the importance of sustainable practices," said Jessica, A Greener Future, Partnership Manager.
